Civil Service Commission
The Civil Service Commission for South Lane County Fire & Rescue is appointed by the board to ensure fair and merit-based employment practices within the district.

The Commission is responsible for establishing and enforcing rules related to the hiring, promotion, and discipline of classified employees.
Through oversight of testing, eligibility lists, and appeal hearings, the Commission helps ensure transparency, accountability, and professionalism in the district’s workforce. Its role is vital in upholding public trust and maintaining an effective, service-oriented fire and emergency response team.
