FireMed

A ground ambulance transport in the South Lane County area will cost more than $2,000, and an air ambulance more than $30,000, unless you have FireMed. (Insurance may cover 20-50%). FireMed protects your family from unexpected emergency costs while supporting your local EMS providers.

About FireMed

FireMed is an ambulance membership program that protects it's members from any out of pocket expenses from ambulance services.

SLCFR Firemed allows two (2) uses for medically necessary ambulance transports per household member, per membership year. If the SLCFR Firemed subscriber is transported to Cottage Grove Medical Center by SLCFR, and within a twenty-four (24) hour period, is transferred to a higher level of care, as a result of the original condition, SLCFR FireMed will allow membership benefit to be used, and not counted toward the maximum use of two (2) times per household member, per membership year.

SLCFR FireMed will discount the bill 50% for subscribers without insurance coverage, who are transported to a hospital. This benefit is available twice per household member, per membership year.

SLCFR FireMed allows one (1) non-transport related charge per household member, per membership year. Once the maximum of one (1) non-transport related charge is covered within a membership year for a household member, no further non-transport related charges will be covered by SLCFR FIREMED for that household member, for the remainder of the membership year.

FireMed household membership benefits cover you, your spouse or domestic partner and dependents claimed on your income tax return and that live in the same household.  Elderly or disabled family members living in the same household are also covered.
